Creating Your Wallet
You can create a new wallet directly in the Margin Trade interface via Privy or connect an existing wallet to start trading on Margin Trade. Either option links a wallet address to your trading account, and you can switch or reconnect wallets at any time.
1. Create a New Wallet with Privy (Email)
This is the fastest and easiest way for new users without an existing crypto wallet. Using secure key management, you can create a wallet directly in your browser using just your email address or Google account.
Your keys are encrypted and stored securely, allowing you to sign trades safely — without needing to manually manage seed phrases.
This option is ideal for first-time users or anyone who prefers a simple setup with email recovery.
To create a wallet:
Click “Connect Wallet” in the top right or within the order window.
Click on "Sign in with Google" or follow the prompt to enter your email address. A code will be sent to your inbox.
Retrieve the verification code sent and enter it in the popup window.
You’ll then be asked to accept the Margin Trade Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Once accepted, your new wallet will be generated and automatically connected. You’re now ready to trade once you’ve deposited funds into your account.
2. Connect an Existing Wallet
If you already have a wallet such as Phantom, Rabby, Backpack, or MetaMask, you can connect it directly to Margin Trade and begin trading with your existing funds.
To connect your existing wallet:
Click “Connect Wallet” in the upper right or in the order window. Select your preferred wallet from the supported options.
Your wallet extension or app will prompt you to approve the connection to Margin Trade.
You’ll then be asked to sign a message to verify wallet ownership.
Review and accept the Margin Trade Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. You won’t be able to use the interface without accepting these.
Ensure your wallet is connected to the Margin Network (Mainnet or Testnet). Your wallet should switch automatically, or you may be prompted to approve the change.
To begin trading, click “Deposit to Get Started” and fund your account.
Once funds are deposited, click “Enable Trading” and sign the confirmation. Your wallet address and balances will appear in the interface once connected.
You’re now fully set up and ready to trade on Margin Trade.
